Symmetrical balance is when something is similar on both sides. If you cut it in half each side will be almost exactly like the other. Asymmetrical is when one side outbalances the other side. One side of the photo will have more weight on it. Visual balance is important in art because it can make your photograph beautiful. Sometimes it can make it ugly to. You need to master visual balance.
