Meters adds light to your photo. It works best when there is a dim light and you need extra light. It takes away shadows and freezes time. Another pro is that it eliminates blur. To get your meter activated to press down the shutter half way. In the first photo my partner is dark and kind of blurry. In the second photo my partner has more light and is more clear. It can help me in the future by giving more light and clearing up the photo.
